Meri Kojima

Meri first joined our hospital as a volunteer in 2021 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. At a time when many industries were struggling, she was simply looking for a way to help her community and support the animals that needed care. What began as volunteer work quickly grew into a lifelong passion after witnessing Dr. Vaikhary's dedication to her patients, clients, and staff. Inspired by her mentorship, Meri developed a dream of one day owning a veterinary hospital of her own, one where compassionate care and high-quality medicine work hand in hand.

Today, Meri is spending the summer with us as a Veterinary Technician before beginning the next chapter of her journey. She recently graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Integrative Biology and was accepted into Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, where she will begin pursuing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree this fall.

Outside of the hospital, Meri enjoys mentoring students through tutoring, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with her almost one-year-old pug, Mochi.
